Memorial Day weekend in State College usually brings a mix of community gatherings, live entertainment, sports, and remembrance events, making it one of the busier holiday weekends of the spring. In the Happy Valley area, the calendar typically fills up quickly with family-friendly activities, campus events, and local celebrations tied to the holiday period.
This year, that means there should be plenty to highlight in your roundup, from Memorial Day themed programs to broader weekend happenings that still fit the holiday mood. If you are introducing a list of events below, a good lead is to frame them as the best upcoming ways to spend the long weekend in and around State College, whether someone is looking for a ceremony, a concert, or something casual to do with family and friends.
One standout event worth adding to your Memorial Day plans is the annual festival at Boal Mansion in Boalsburg, just minutes from State College. This historic site hosts a lively mix of live music, food vendors, artisan crafts, and family activities set against the backdrop of its museum and theater, drawing crowds for a full day of patriotic fun and community spirit. It's a perfect way to blend remembrance with celebration.
